NECA Trade Teachers Awards Now Open
The 2010 Electrical and Communications Trade Teacher of the Year Awards are now open for applications. Peak industry body, the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), sponsors the award and the winner will receive a prize worth $5000 made up of both cash and professional development allowances.
NECA encourages all electrical trade teachers to apply for the prestigious award that was designed to recognise the outstanding contributions made by trade teachers in rainsing the standard of education and training in the industry.
NECA Operations Manager Vicky Rigler said the awards can really help trade teachers to access further eduction.
"The Trade Teacher Awards recognise those in our industry that make the future brighter by their dedication to training apprentices," Ms Rigler said.
"The overall winner can receive a prize of up to $5000 worth of professional development. This is very significant and a great opportunity for the peak industry body to thank the teachers that do such a great job in preparing apprentices for work."
The Trade Teacher Award winner will be announced at the NECA Excellence Awards held at Star City Casino in Sydney on 25 November 2010.
