NECA is Australia's peak national industry body for electrical and communications contractors and represents the best interests of the entire industry. As the authority in Australia, NECA is often asked by governments to write submissions to different committees to ensure the interests of the electrotechnology industry are well represented.
NECA also contibutes to leading trade magazine, Electrical Connection, produces an annual report and in the past produced the publications Voice Data Electrical and National Voice.
Annual Reviews
The NECA Annual Review is a summary of NECA's contribution to its members throughout Australia and the entire industry. The Annual Review includes information on what issues NECA took to government and updates on from each of the NECA State Chapters.

Government Submissions
NECA has written submissions to governments on numerous issues affecting electrical and communications contractors. This include the Review of National Model Work Health and Safety Regulations and Codes, Energy Efficient Homes Package Inquiry, National Licensing System and Australian Apprenticeship Taskforce.

Electrical Connection and Cabling Connection
In 2010, NECA and Connection Magazines made an agreement that would provide a massive benefit to electricians and electrical contractors in Australia.
As the peak body in Australia for the electrotechnology industry, NECA agreed to provide a regular NECA News section in each edition of Electrical Connection to keep the industry updated on the big issues affecting contractors. The good news is NECA members also receive a free subscription.
